Destined for Greatness
Amal Alamuddin was born on February 3rd, 1978, the same year George Clooney scored his first role, all the way across the world in Beirut, Lebanon. Amal moved to Buckinghamshire, England, with her parents, Ramzi and Baria, and three siblings when she was two years old. Amal knew she wanted to be a lawyer since she was a child. She earned a BA in Jurisprudence from Oxford and a master’s degree in law from NYU. While both Amal and George were making significant achievements in their careers, neither was on the radar of the other—but that would soon change.

Big Break
During the 1980s and 1990s, George Clooney appeared in a variety of sitcoms and programs, including the CBS sitcom E/R, The Golden Girls, and his first horror film, Return of the Killer Tomatoes. He was clearly making his way up the acting ladder. Anyone who watched the NBC blockbuster drama ER back in the day will recall that George Clooney’s breakout role as Dr. Doug Ross was his first taste of major stardom. He portrayed the part for five years, collecting two Emmy nominations and three Golden Globe nominations, as well as gaining the hearts of the nation.
