Leading Man
Clooney rose to fame in 2001 after starring as Danny Ocean in the classic heist film Ocean’s Eleven. With co-stars such as Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, and Julia Roberts, Clooney established himself as a leading man. The soon-to-be-couple were each racing to the top of their own fields without even realizing it. Amal was admitted to the bar in 2002 and later worked for the UN Prosecutor’s Office in The Hague. She began practicing law in England in 2010 and has since established herself as a renowned attorney in international human rights. To call these two forces formidable would be an understatement.

The world’s attention was on beautiful George Clooney, fresh off the triumph of his Ocean’s Eleven film. Right in the midst of his celebrity, the entire world was watching Clooney to see what he would do next. In 2002, he enlarged his property empire, like many celebrities do. According to the Washington Post, Clooney paid an estimated $10 million for Villa Oleandra, a lovely property in Laglio, Lake Como, Italy, from the Heinz family. He wanted to get away from Hollywood after a high-profile breakup with Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis. Clooney had no concept how significant this property would become.
