The Mycenean “Griffin Warrior”

In 2015, they uncovered an ancient Bronze Age tomb. It was considered to date from 1450 BC and contained a human skeleton. Archaeologists uncovered 14,000 objects ranging from firearms to jewelry. They assumed the man buried there was a warrior or a priest because of further carving on the monument!

Tobias Houlton and Lynne Schepartz, anthropologists, used the skull to create this digital depiction. He most likely had a strong jaw and close-set eyes! They were able to calculate his height from the remains, which was 5’4″ at the time. They also discovered combs, leading them to believe that this warrior had long hair.
