Herbert Grönemeyer was an actor at the Bochum Schauspielhaus and also played in the legendary drama “Das Boot”, which won six Oscars in 1983. Musician Udo Lindenberg became known as one of the first German-speaking rockers. His career began in the 1970s and with songs such as “Sonderzug nach Pankow” he also managed to help German-German rapprochement in the 1980s. In 1983, he was the first West German artist to be allowed to perform at the Palast der Republik in the GDR. The rock star is known to live in Hamburg’s Atlantik Hotel, which he can easily afford from his 46 million euro fortune.
