There Was No Improvement
George’s condition in the hospital had not improved significantly. When he was brought in, his medical records yielded no clues as to why he had suddenly collapsed on the floor. They were having trouble pinpointing a specific cause for his condition, so for the time being they were just focusing on keeping him stable. The doctors were almost successful, thank goodness.
Supported By The Machines
For the time being, at least, George needed the machines to which he was connected in order to stay alive. It was hoped that this would be short-lived, but in times like these, you never know. It’s difficult to prevent a recurrence of an episode when its cause is unknown. When Eric and Giovanni got to the hospital, that was the sad news they heard, too.
