Even the boys seemed a little taken aback by the news that their dad was still alive. Something like this could easily be fatal to him at his age. The doctor was unable to approve their request to see him immediately. The man’s condition remained grave, so he needed to be free of all stimulus. For the time being, he had to prioritize his own survival. The boys looked visibly frustrated by this, but they were ultimately forced to comply.
