Waning Popularity
The duo’s popularity eventually waned in the following decade. Aside from the documentary The Two Coreys on A&E, Haim worked mainly outside the mainstream, and the roles he played were in shlocky B-movies. Also, he struggled with addiction issues. He started drinking and doing drugs in his early teens. Sadly, his life was cut short at the age of 38. Initially, it was reported that he died from an accidental overdose, but it was later chalked up to pneumonia.
Kiefer Sutherland Played David
As Donald Sutherland’s son, Kiefer Sutherland had basically a free pass when he entered Hollywood. He even debuted onscreen alongside his father in the 1983 comedy Max Dugan Returns. However, the younger Sutherland soon stepped out of his father’s shadow and became a star in his own right. He portrayed the intimidating Ace in the 1986 coming-of-age movie Stand by Me and, of course, the iconic David in The Lost Boys.
