Even when things were difficult, Harry never stopped trying to make things work out for the best. At the very least, living by oneself with just one cat was a convenient arrangement. One thing was all that he needed to be concerned about, and that was himself. It was a small apartment on the dingier side of Philadelphia where he lived. Every single day, he walked five blocks in order to get to his daily employment. He was able to make a life while working as a cashier. He needed every dime to survive, despite the fact that he did not have any money.

Harry believed that he had seen everything there was to see at the corporation, having worked there for more than a year. Any and all odd interactions with customers were included in this category of interactions. On previous occasions, he had witnessed someone attempting to shoplift whole turkeys on Thanksgiving. A blind man had been seen purchasing carrots in order to “help his blindness.” But the man had not witnessed everything there was to see. Another peculiar encounter was going to take place in the not too distant future. On the other hand, this one would leave him in a precarious financial situation.
