Looking Around
There was still a lot of debris and old furniture in the basement, so it might have come from anywhere. Jeff was surprised by a sound coming from his typically silent cellar, so he got up and started looking about. He couldn’t just leave whatever it was sitting about, even though the search would take a while.

Can’t Find Anything
Jeff looked through every item in his cellar for two whole days, but he was unsuccessful in finding anything. It appeared as though the sound appeared out of nowhere and then vanished in the same direction. Jeff was starting to get a bit frightened at this point since the sound was rekindling his long-held phobia of ghosts in basements.
