The doctor recognized her predicament and led Lily into an empty room. They remained in that room for a few moments, leaving Lily’s mother in the waiting area. All she could do now was pray that her daughter would find the courage to tell the doctor everything and possibly save her father’s life.

The door opened after ten to fifteen minutes, and the doctor raced out. He didn’t even look or talk to Lily’s mother. Instead, he dashed past her into the surgery room. “What happened, Lily?” inquired her mother. “I finished it, Mom. I informed him of what had occurred! “Are you pleased with me?”
