All her mother hoped for was that John would survive surgery and be able to explain what had transpired that afternoon. At least she was certain of one thing. If he made it out alive, he was never going near that Mustang again!

After several hours, John was still in the surgery room. Everyone was concerned about his health, and there had been no updates. Lily’s mother would get up and pace around the room every few minutes. It was terrifying not knowing what was going on behind those locked doors.
