Later, the park stated it will end live Performances
The live shows have been one of SeaWorld’s most popular selling elements. Of course, seeing orcas up close and personal was exciting for many visitors, but Dawn Brancheau’s death during one of these presentations caused many to reconsider the performances. Whatever happened, SeaWorld had to halt the shows. Nonetheless, it took several years for the modifications to take effect. Following the tragic loss of Dawn, SeaWorld prohibited trainers from entering the water with orcas. Several years later, they announced that they would be discontinuing the live events entirely. They allegedly sought to demonstrate that they were changing with “Society” and remove themselves from previous problems.
SeaWorld is now allegedly more dedicated than ever to the conservation of orcas
For many, every adjustment offered by SeaWorld over the years has been a step in the right direction. After all, they will soon be free of orcas and will no longer feature live performances on the show. Others, however, are unimpressed, believing that SeaWorld must do more to demonstrate its commitment to orcas and other sea creatures. For the time being, it appears that SeaWorld is continuing to make progress. The response from ‘Blackfish’ was enough to put an end to the thought of losing visitors for good. Despite the fact that some organizations have accused the amusement park of lying about its claims of rescuing wild orcas, public pressure appears to have compelled SeaWorld to act.
