Meritamun
Researchers from the University of Melbourne devised the term Meritamun, which means “beloved of the god Amun,” after uncovering her skull in the archives. It’s still unclear how her remains ended up there. She was Ramesses’ Great Royal Wife, and she was buried in Egypt’s Queens Valley.
What Meritamun Really Looked Like
The only thing they had on her was her skull, but they uncovered more about her. Her death occurred while she was between the ages of 18 and 25, and the cause of death is still unknown. Because of her decayed teeth, they concluded she liked sweets. This is possible, given that Alexander III introduced sweets to Egypt at that period!
