Alkaline water is supposedly good for many people, but not everyone
- Effects: Effects for those with kidney or liver disease
Alkaline water appears to be gaining popularity recently, and we can understand why. This substance is said to help with things like high cholesterol, blood pressure, and diabetes, which is more than regular water can do. What’s not to like about that? However, this does not imply that it is safe for everyone to consume. Those with kidney or liver illness, it appears, should seek medical counsel before consuming this water. This is because alkaline water appears to enhance salt levels in the body. Because high sodium levels can harm organs such as the kidneys and liver, drinking this water when you already have problems may exacerbate them.
Frozen yogurt apparently isn’t the healthy alternative to ice cream that many thought
- Effects: Potential diabetes
When striving to be healthy, it can be difficult to give up ice cream. There is, however, a silver lining in that you can still enjoy frozen yogurt. At least, that’s what we thought. It turns out that this may not be the healthier option that we anticipated. Although it is said to have fewer calories and fat, it is still sweet. Half a cup of vanilla frozen yogurt has up to 17 grams of sugar, according to the USDA. For comparison, the same amount of vanilla ice cream contains 14 grams of the substance. As a result, a bowl of frozen yogurt might easily exceed your daily sugar allowance. It’s essentially diabetes on a spoon.
