One of George’s neighbors had been instrumental in getting him to the hospital. Innocently walking his dog past the old man’s house, he caught a glimpse of George through the window and wondered what had become of him. The neighbor rushed over to where an unconscious George was lying on the floor of his living room. When applied to a man of his age, this can only spell disaster.

He began tapping on the window in an attempt to awaken the elderly man. Once the neighbor saw that George was unresponsive, he knew he had to call for help. He needed to have trained personnel arrive as soon as possible. Both the police and an ambulance arrived, and both were prepared to force entry. However, they discovered to their surprise that the door was unlocked and they could simply walk in.
