Paige’s golfing career began with a misstep at the University of Arizona. She began with a scholarship and a golf bag full of ambitions, but only competed in three tournaments, scoring a respectable but not earth-shattering 73. It was the 2011/12 season, and the desert winds did not appear to be in her favor. The following year, a change was necessary. Paige packed her clubs and traveled to San Diego State University, where the fairways were friendlier. Suddenly, her golf game improved, and her excitement grew. It was a good fit, and her grades started to improve.

First year at Aztecs? Paige made it look like a stroll in the park—the golf park, that is! In her first season, 2012-2013, she swept in with First-Team All-Mountain West accolades and racked up top-10 finishes like they were out of style. Oh, and 19th place in the NCAA Central Regional Championship? Not too bad for a freshman, is it? Paige lit up the fairways in year two, despite the fact that she “settled” for Second Team. Another top-10 collegiate championship finish was in the bag, and while her performances had slipped significantly, she was ready for something larger.
