As you’ve probably expected, this amazing house went viral online. It even was featured on the news! Who would have thought that a 96-year-old woman could maintain such a house on her own? Naturally, the popularity made the price go way up. For people who paid attention to the whole story, the house must have felt more like a museum to them than a house to live in. It looked like something from the ’40s inside. Joyce chose not to change anything so she could still afford to maintain it.

While the place stayed mostly the same, Joyce did say that there was one part of the house that was renovated. In the ’60s, she decided to modernize the kitchen to fill it with the modern conveniences back then. Even though this update happened in the ’60s, all the appliances in the house were still in working order. Considering how well-kept the house was, it’s not all that surprising to hear that this was the case.
