Feldman has fond memories filming The Lost Boys, but the production also had its downsides. For instance, then-14-year-old Feldman was routinely using drugs during filming. His on-set intoxication made Schumacher step in with some pretty stern advice. “He tried to prevent my descent.” Feldman explained on Twitter in 2020. Apparently, things got so bad that the director fired the actor, but the following day, Feldman apologized. The star also promised to be professional, so Schumacher rehired him.

Sadly, Feldman’s vices ended up hurting his acting career. In recent times, he is probably better known for the strange rebranding he underwent, from being an actor to a pop star. His infamously strange performance on The Today Show in 2017 didn’t help things either. More alarmingly, he had made allegations that he was abused by older Hollywood figures when he was a child. He even said that his The Lost Boys co-star Corey Haim was also abused.
