Needless to say, Winter was very wrong! The film became a huge hit. Two years later, he returned to acting again in the sci-fi comedy Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, where he co-starred with Keanu Reeves. The movie also became a classic and even spawned two sequels. It also created a bodacious new kind of teen slang. You might think that Winter would choose to continue acting with such successful projects, but he didn’t.

Despite the success, Winter got burned out by stardom. He eventually decided to take a break from acting — a more permanent one. He then started directing and has since made documentaries with varied subjects like children in Hollywood, file sharing, and tax havens. Perhaps you have seen the sequel Bill & Ted Face the Music. He is in that, as well. The acting bug may still be in Winter, after all.
