Great Acclaim
After The Lost Boys, Hermann continued to act both in film and TV and received great acclaim. In 1999, his performance on The Practice even earned him an Emmy. And, needless to say, he endeared himself to a lot of fans when he portrayed Richard Gilmore on The Gilmore Girls. However, this glittering career came to a sad end back in 2014. At 71 years old, Hermann died of brain cancer.

Together with his brother Edgar, Alan is one of the crusaders fighting against the swarm of undead in Santa Carla. He also works as a shop assistant at the comic book store their family owns. However, did you know that Alan was initially written as a boy who is eight years old? Yes, you read that right! In the end, they decided to age Alan up a bit. This means the 17-year-old Jamison Newlander was a great fit for the role.
