In spite of the fact that Gareth did not wish for his daughter to detest him, he was aware that he needed to take action. Following her return to the house the following afternoon, he sat her down and informed her of the contents that he had discovered in her luggage. It was his hope that the conversation would be peaceful and that it would result in some answers. On the other hand, he arrived at the exact opposite result.

When Celeste heard what her father had to say, she was so enraged that she instantly went on the defense. She was beyond upset. She stated that he had no business rummaging through her belongings and blamed him for not trusting her. She also accused him of not trusting her. Even though Gareth made an effort to justify his behavior, it was unsuccessful. In the end, he did nothing but make things much more difficult than they already were.
