It’s possible that they were also getting things for themselves. This did not appear to be all that strange. It’s possible that they were merely folks who were wealthy enough to purchase for themselves and a man who was in need of assistance. But after observing the manner in which they shopped, he realized that he had been mistaken in his assumption that they were decent individuals. In his mind, there was a sense that something was not quite right. To what extent was he able to investigate it?

The peculiar manner in which they shopped was the source of his discomfort. It was not with great care that they selected the products. It was a thoughtless act on their part, as they threw anything they saw into the cart without giving it a second thought. It was almost as if the products cost nothing. As long as they loaded their cart with items, it didn’t matter what they received; they were satisfied with that. What would be the real kicker, however, would be when he discovered what was in their shopping basket.
