It’s apparent that marrying Prince Harry has compelled Meghan Markle to make some significant decisions. Many of her options were not quite satisfactory to her. Nonetheless, it appears that her most recent major decision was more appropriate for her than for anyone else. “After extensive thought and discussion, we have decided to embark on a journey of change this year, in order to create a forward-thinking role within this organization,” the pair stated on their official Instagram page.

The statement made it clear that Meghan and Harry were about to take a huge step. They declared that they “want to take a step back from being ‘important’ Royal Family members and try to become financially self-sufficient.” It appears that Harry and Meghan both agreed to the choice, however many people believe Meghan had to persuade Harry to go forward with it. In the end, the majority of their funding will continue to come from the Duchy of Cornwall.
