His Humble Beginnings
It took the actor years of bold efforts and hard work before finally landing big roles. Among the first jobs that he took on when he moved to Los Angeles was the New Talent Program held by Columbia Pictures. This fetched him around $600 per month. This was how he scored a number of small movie roles that helped him get a foot in the door. He continued to work his way up, but his breakthrough came when he landed the role of Han Solo in Star Wars. The rest, as they say, is history!
How He Found His Passion
If you ask him about his love of acting, he will tell you that he is a “late bloomer.” Harrison Ford started his career during his college days by doing sportscasting and radio gigs while he took up English and Philosophy studies at Ripon College. By chance, he stumbled into drama and found that it made him feel more extroverted. Soon after that, he developed a strong interest in acting. As a matter of fact, it went on to be his main passion in life!
