His First Film
At last, Harrison Ford snagged the opportunity to appear on the big screen by working on a film called Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round. It was such a small and short role that he was not even in the credits. On top of that, the producers gave him bad feedback about it. An exec who watched his performance told him that he should stop trying. Not only that, but the young man was told that he did not have a future in the industry and should quit. Those were harsh words, but Ford did not give up.
His Relationship With George Lucas
Harrison Ford and George Lucas were introduced by their mutual friend. This happened a couple of years before Lucas started to create the Star Wars franchise. Back then, they were both pretty unknown but always had good chemistry. After they worked together on the sci-fi series, they continued to work in other films such as Indiana Jones and American Graffiti. It is not at all a stretch to say that the filmmaker deserves credit for his friend’s stardom! They remain good friends and have a unique working dynamic.
