The actor said that he planned to try out for Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy in 2012. Lee Pace, however, said that he was not exactly eager about this. It is a good thing that Chris Pratt ended up playing the role instead. The pace was not totally cut off from the project since they offered him Ronan the Accuser. This was the right call since the end roles suited them better.

Best known for bringing Cordelia Chase to life in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charisma Carpenter first wanted the title character for herself. On the other hand, Sarah Michelle Gellar wanted to play Cordelia Chase. They knocked the ball out of the park during their auditions, but Josh Whedon thought they would do a better job at switching roles. As we all know, this was for the best since they both did a great job at their final roles.
