‘Sesame Street’
Dolly has also been memorialized on Sesame Street, the beloved children’s show. In the 1990s, the show added Polly Darton, a Muppet with a look and mannerisms that were plainly inspired by Parton (remember, it’s a kid’s show).
Double Honor
Dolly Parton had two entries on the renowned list of music tracks in 2004: The American Film Institute’s 100 Years… 100 Songs: America’s Greatest Music in Films. The title track from her popular film, “Nine to Five,” came in at #78. Parton was recognized again thirteen positions later, this time for authoring “I Will Always Love You.”
