Silvio Horta, an American screenwriter, and producer, will address the transformation of the Colombian soap opera Yo soy Betty, la fea into ABC’s Ugly Betty. “Like most of us up here, Betty is an outsider, and The American Dream is alive and well, and beyond the grasp of everyone who wants it,” he said, referring to the Golden Globe for Best Satire Series, which he won for Ugly Betty. Silent H Productions, a sarcastic homage to their last name, is created by the first ten Cuban-Americans.
