It is a bittersweet life for the couple Caryl Peterson and The Iron Sheik, also known as Hossein Varizi. They got married on March 21, 1976, and were blessed with three daughters and five grandchildren. Varizi is a retired professional wrestler and a former soldier in the Imperial Iranian Academy. In May 2003, his eldest daughter, Marissa, was murdered by his boyfriend, Charles Warren Reynolds, at the age of 27.

They finally tied the knot in 2011 and already have a baby girl named Ruby Claire Hardy, who was born in October 2010, followed by another daughter named Nera Quinn Hardy in December 2015.
