Cleopatra
For more than three decades, Cleopatra ruled Egypt. At the age of 18, she began her reign alongside her younger brother, Ptolemy XIII, but was pushed out of the country by his counselors in 49 B.C. She was reunited with her other brother, Ptolemy XIV, thanks to Caesar’s intervention, and she had a son named Ptolemy Caesar, who is usually thought to be the product of her romance with the Roman dictator. Unfortunately, Ptolemy XIV died soon after Julius Caesar was slain. Cleopatra and her son ruled Egypt for the rest of their lives.
What Cleopatra Really Looked Like
Cleopatra was a ruler who was well-educated. It was one of the factors in her ascension to co-regent and supreme ruler. She may also charm and form alliances with her fellow leaders. 3D artists used sculptures and pictures to recreate her face. Many people expected her to look like Elizabeth Taylor, thus her athletic features and wide nose may come as a surprise.
