Coming Back
After grabbing the duffel bag, the veteran turned his attention back to the table in the restaurant. Even though he didn’t want to be forced to do it, they had no other option than to leave. He went back to the front of the building and cleared his throat before entering. The waitress’s face was cleared of the expression of displeasure that had been on it. Fear had taken its place as he unzipped his duffel bag and brought out something that no one had anticipated seeing.

His Bug-out Bag
It was revealed to be his bug-out bag, as the story goes. He preserved everything that was significant to him. Despite the fact that the waitress spotted bundles of cash inside, he did not pull out one of those stacks. The item that he took hold of was an old Polaroid. “Are you familiar with the identity of this person?” He had tears flowing down his face as he made his statement. One of the photographs was of a young man who was smiling at the camera. Derek, my son, was a soldier who gave his life for my nation.
