Lyla’s renewed anger
Lyla felt frustration and despair overcome her again. “This is absurd, Kenneth!” she shouted angrily. “We’re chasing after a dog while Pablo has disappeared!” Kenneth didn’t react to her outburst, but continued to focus on the dog. “Trust him, Lyla!” he shouted back. With an annoyed snort, she reluctantly followed him, unable to let go of her worries and anger. Kenneth, on the other hand, kept his eyes firmly on Scooter’s trail, fervently hoping that this pursuit would finally lead them to their son.

Scooter drives behind the shed
Scooter raced behind the shed, and Kenneth’s heartbeat immediately quickened. “This way!” he shouted, signaling Lyla to stay close behind him. Together they turned the corner, trying to keep up with the hurrying dog. “What could be back there?” Lyla asked with a hint of concern. Kenneth’s mind raced as Scooter disappeared behind the shed. The adrenaline rush made him run faster. “He’s spotted something,” Kenneth thought determinedly.
