It was unusual for the tenants not to answer, but not strange enough to scare the landlord. When he took a look at the doorbell, that changed. The “cord” had been deliberately pulled out of the socket, as if someone had tried to wire it. Ravaux didn’t know what to make of it, because that was a big red flag. The doorbell made a loud and disturbing sound. If the family had been present, they would undoubtedly have heard it. At that moment, Ravaux was ready to enter the apartment with his spare key. He thought the doorbell was just a distraction. He opened the door to his apartment and decided not to pay attention to the wind. He entered cautiously, expecting to find an empty apartment at worst. But the sight that presented itself almost took his breath away
