According to what was stated in the law, most of the Jolie-Pitt children under the age of 18 were required to remain in their mother’s company. With regard to the custody of children, Angelina Jolie filed to take all her children into custody. Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Knox, and Vivienne all found it extremely difficult to cope and to adapt to their new environment, in which their dad was no longer present.

Angelina Jolie went into an interview one year after the divorce and shared her experiences with the children after the separation. She ensured that she showed her children no weaknesses — she even said they would never cry before their children, but she would always cry when she was alone. She admitted that all was very difficult, but that for her children, she had to stay strong.
