But she wasn’t about to give up on hope so easily. She was familiar with her husband. He was tough and strong, and he would go to any length to be there for his family. He would never have allowed anything bad to happen to himself. She took out her phone once more and attempted to call him, but there was no answer. She didn’t realize it at the time, but something terrible was happening to her husband.

She dashed back out to her car as a last resort. Perhaps he was anticipating it. She hoped they had simply passed each other without noticing. But when she returned to her car, there was no sign of him. What was she supposed to do at this point? She tried calling him one more time, but this time his phone went straight to voicemail. It had been turned off by someone.
