Football is everyone’s favorite sport in Iran, and both men and women excel at it. It is normal to see women playing football while wearing hijabs. Iran’s national football squad has three times qualified for the World Cup and three times won the Asian Cup. The FIFA (or Fédération Internationale de Football Association) banned the hijab in 2007. As a result, Iran’s women’s soccer squad was disqualified.

In Iran, you can witness centuries of culture everywhere. Strong words are written all over the place. In general, Iranian culture has made significant contributions to the worlds of art and poetry. Although little is known, the English term “paradise” is derived from a Persian word that meaning “enclosed garden.” Some of the world’s most beautiful poetry have been written by Persian writers such as Sa’ad, Hfez, and Firdaws. Modern poets, particularly those who play Persian classical music, are also renowned in Iran.
