The UK’s Continental Shelf

Owned Since: 1964 (Drilling Rights)
Valued At: $64 billion* (Oil)

The UKCS is Queen Elizabeth II’s most valuable natural resource. The UK Continental Shelf refers to the waters surrounding the United Kingdom. The English Channel, Irish Sea, North Atlantic, and North Sea water rights are all owned by the Crown. The UKCS has enormous oil and gas reserves. The BEIS Oil and Gas Authority is in charge of awarding and licensing oil company contracts. These companies are only permitted to drill in specific areas. The land has been owned by the Crown for generations. Drilling rights are among the portfolio’s most recent additions.

A Bat Colony

Owned Since: 2019
Valued At:
Priceless

A colony of bats arranged in her own hall at Balmoral Castle is one of Her Majesty’s favourite parts. According to other evidence, Elizabeth may have developed a new hobby as a result of Discovery Channel programming. The animals set up camp in the main hall of the main house, but instead of leaving it to the animals to sort it out, Elizabeth got involved. The royal employees let the bats out of the castle and leave the windows open so that they can return whenever they want.
