While Teletubbies was an international success for kids, the people of England were unhappy. The Warwickshire citizens protested against the film. In fact, Anne Wood, creator of the show, said she had to convince the planning authorities that she would have to spend £150,000 for digging a hole and another £150,000 for filling it if they ever turned the permit down. Despite her claim of only making a small scale project, helicopters and photographers descended on the location.
