Getting Difficult
Jessica was worn out and unsure of how long she could continue to follow Steven. She was finding it very challenging to keep up with him due to the pregnancy, and she was beginning to second-guess her choice. Why had she put both herself and the child in such danger? She could have, after all, chosen a different strategy, but then something occurred that erased all of her uncertainties. And it arrived on schedule!

After over two hours of walking, Steve abruptly halted and stood still. Despite the fact that Jessica felt he wouldn’t turn around, she hid behind a bush just in case. To her astonishment, he did, nevertheless! She sprinted away as soon as he turned to gaze in her direction so he wouldn’t see her. She did not dare to glance back up again for a few seconds. She didn’t want to let him get away from her.
