Lily watched her husband intently and was taken aback by his reaction. He didn’t appear perplexed; rather, he appeared astonished, even stunned. It didn’t appear to be the first time he’d seen the book. “Have you ever seen this book before?” she inquired. “How did you get this?” he asked, evidently questioning.

“How” did I obtain this? “Don’t you mean ‘What is this?’ or ‘What does this mean?'” she questioned frankly. It was evident to her that this book wasn’t new to him. “You know about this book, don’t you?” she inquired. She could feel a knot forming in her throat. “Well? “Please tell me everything.”
