In the long-running TV series Columbo, for which he won four Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award, Peter Michael Falk was an American actor and comedian, known for his role as Lieutenant Columbo. He first starred in two 90-minute TV pilots as Columbo, the first in 1968 with Gene Barry and the second in 1971 with Lee Grant. The show then aired from 1971 to 1978 as part of The NBC Mystery Movie series, and again from 1989 to 2003 on ABC.
