Even before people paid attention to her during the Winter Olympics of 2018, Mirai Nagasu was a star in her own right. The games, however, took her fame to a whole new level. During the Pyeonchang games, she became the first female American skater to perform a triple axel at the Olympic stage. She and her teammates also won a bronze medal.
