Production company: various Distinctive feature: energy-efficient levitation train Estimated production cost: 1.2 billion euros* This technology may be futuristic, but it’s far from new. Magnetic levitation trains have been studied and developed for around 100 years. After all, they are an essential part of the urban transport system in South Korea, Japan and China. The Maglev system also uses magnetic fields to enable vehicles to float. They are often used as high-speed trains or even for extreme roller coasters.
