Manufacturer: HerO HerO Special feature: no emissions Estimated production cost: Unknown Designing an aircraft is certainly no easy task. Joe Doucet, as a graduate of the Arts Center College of Design, had the opportunity to do just that. He created the concept for a zero-emission HerO airplane. The plane is powered by batteries instead of fuel, which is why it’s also known as the Tesla of the air. The batteries are located at the rear of the aircraft. However, the design slows the aircraft down by around 20%, but the extra flight time costs little in the way of money or emotion

Manufacturer: KLM & TU Delft Special features: Unique shape Estimated production cost: Unknown After many years of research and construction, the Flying-V model finally took off in 2020. Justus Benad, a graduate of the Technical University of Delft, designed the aircraft. This aircraft is unique in that the wing also contains the cargo hold, fuel tanks and passenger cabin. The special V-shape not only contributes to the aircraft’s aerodynamics, but also improves fuel consumption by 20%
