David’s father was not present. He had abandoned Haily just as she was about to give birth to David. He’d never tried to contact them or meet his son. Haily despised him for that. She never envisaged her youngster growing up without his father. But Jonah, Haily’s father, stepped in and became the ideal role model for his grandson.
