A small ceremony
It was a tiny gathering. Rose and her parents said a few things about Haily, how she was a wonderful mother to David and how she had departed this world too soon. Rose was tense for the majority of the time. Looking around to see whether Vincent had chosen to make an appearance. But he was not present at the ceremony. Maybe he’ll pay his respects at her coffin.

There was time to say farewell after the wedding. Everyone formed a line and could move approach the casket to speak. It was an open casket, and Haily seemed at ease within. Rose is startled to notice two police policemen going inside the room. She wonders if the undertaker called because he saw Vincent inside the building.
