Katie Holmes (Batman Begins)
One’s acting must be compelling and unforgettable while surrounded by acting greats like Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, and Sir Michael Caine. In Batman Begins, Katie Holmes portrayed neither.
She was convincing as Bruce Wayne’s adult childhood friend, but other people had trouble picturing her as a district attorney. It’s fortunate that Maggie Gyllenhaal filled in for The Dark Knight because without her, Sherlock Holmes would have felt even more out of place.
Steven Seagal (Half Past Dead)
One of the biggest action stars of the 1990s was Steven Seagal. Unfortunately, the seasoned actor didn’t have a good decade after that, as shown in the 2002 film Half Past Dead. Seagal may have still played strong, but he was no longer credible as an unstoppable action force in his role as an undercover FBI agent imprisoned who must band together with inmates to resist a jail takeover.
