In 2001, the canal was emptied for the first time. At the time, they were able to remove almost 40 tons of garbage from the water. Among the fantastic discovery were bullets, bombshells, and gold coins from the First World War. Not only that but an automobile from the same era was also uncovered. That hasn’t happened in a long time. What more may they discover in the water?
