Yes, the same restaurant chain that sells rotisserie chickens also gets to sell car tires. The studded variety, however, is not one of them. While studded tires can provide more traction on icy surfaces, they can also cause road damage. Pat McClintock, the corporate tire buyer at Costco, told the Spokesman-Review newspaper in 2007 that the retailer had stopped selling studded tires because it was “environmentally responsible.”
