In order to construct a new metro line, excavators began working beneath Rome in 2017. Rome is one of the oldest important cities, therefore many fascinating artifacts were discovered. For instance, while excavating, workmen discovered the charred remains of a posh third-century residence. A 1,800-year-old dog’s skeleton that was probably destroyed in the fire was also discovered. The house was burnt but amazingly well-preserved due of the ash left behind by the fire, which stopped the ruins in their tracks. Experts surmised that the owner of this house was a Celian Hill aristocracy.
